“Incredible campground! The owners put in so much work to restore this historical landmark and paid close attention to every detail. The old Mill on site was built in 1838, restored, operating, and the owner will give you a tour for a small donation, so worth it. Each site has water, electric, sewer, and fire pits. Located right in a river in a gorgeous valley. Highly recommend!” -L.S., January 2024

“This place is amazing!! We have never had service as great as this. The owner Mark, his wife Terry and brother in law Brian are wonderful hosts. We were treated like royalty. The showers and restrooms were very clean. The size of our site was spacious. The sound of the creek and waterfall from the grist mill was so very relaxing. We will be returning for another stay as soon as we can.” -Michelle, September 2023

“My family and I had a great time with unreal service and super friendly staff! They were so helpful in so many ways with a super laid back, camping experience. There were plenty of activities, games, and a pavilion open to anyone with several things for the kids and adults to do. The bathhouse was very clean. We will definitely be back!” -Nick, July 2023

“This place went above and beyond expectations. Safety: We felt at home here. Not a worry {in} the world, very safe. Noteworthy details: They started a fire for us because our wood was wet, they provided us an extra blanket because the temperature dropped to the 50s and they even gave us a space heater for the night. Came and checked on us in the morning as well. They have a recreation area with games for adults and kids. A creek with a water wheel that has a small light show at night. Over all it was serene and relaxing. Super clean and very welcoming. Bathrooms are a 100/10.” -Bailee, June 2023

“We couldn’t have been happier with this well maintained homey campground. The perfect location for Appalachian Trail hikes and getting the feel of beautiful rural Georgia. Hosts went above and beyond to make our experience the best including helping us get our campfire going (yes, truly), giving us a tour of the Historic Mill on the property (which adds to the charm) and taking us to watch the nightly fire-fly arrival, which was just magical! Can’t thank them enough, Best campground we’d been in for a long time.” -Lisa, June 2023

“Spent 3 months at this campground. Beautiful and centrally located between Ellijay, Dahlonega, Blue Ridge, and Blairesville GA. The campground is gorgeous and if you like outdoor activities… this is the part of the state to be in! Hosts Mark, Terry & Brian are super nice. Can’t go wrong here… we’ll be back!” -Tim & Jani, June 2023

“The Skeenah Creek Campground is a great option for Benton MacKaye Trail hikers and others looking for a place to stay near the Toccoa Suspension Bridge. This is a beautiful and charming campground with inexpensive and comfortable rooms also available. The owners are super friendly, helpful and welcoming. The campsite is an easy and scenic 3/4 mile road walk from the US60 crossing. We’ve stayed here 2 nights during heavy rains and are so glad we did. Hot showers in a clean facility, WiFi, a pleasant porch and pavilion to hang out in, and a beautiful and historic (1830s) watermill with a trout pond.” -Rolf, April 2023

“Great place for families. The host are wonderful. It is a beautiful scenic drive to Blue Ridge or Blairsville. Can’t wait to plan our next trip back here. Highly recommend this campground! Restrooms: Although I never went into the women’s restroom, my boys bragged about the cleanliness of the men’s restroom.” -Whitney, November 2022

“We’ve driven by for decades as we camp every year in the area…..it often looked closed or not cared for. As every one of our normal campgrounds were full, we decided to give it a try……what a nice surprise! There are new owners who have been working hard for the last three months to clean it up. We just upgraded to a large diesel pusher and there is plenty of room here….and 50 amp service. The pull through sites are all pretty level with very little for our coach to correct. It has its own grist mill from 1848…..with a nice sound of falling water. It has a clean bathhouse and very nice pavilion with darts, etc. The owner let us park our motorcycles under the pavilion….it’s that big! The owner, Mark, is super attentive…and is working hard to make the property even better. You can get phone service here….but not a lot of signal. There is Wi-Fi….which is strong. A quiet, peaceful and pleasant place….with owners who go way out of their way to make us welcome.” -Richard, June 2022

“My husband and I came camping here for the first time and love this place! Lots of grass and trees and a beautiful historic Mill that actually works! They have clean bathrooms with showers, and actually have a blow dryer to use. They have a pavilion and lots of games to play, as well as good fishing in the creek. They’re super nice and accommodating and offer full hookups and large sites for the big campers and Class A motor homes. There are also some awesome sites for tent campers. The campground is in a great location, close to hiking, tubing, great car/motorcycle drives (with twisty roads) and sites. Also close to 2 larger towns to be able to go to a grocery store or restaurant, or just to play tourist. We did lots of hiking. Found several waterfalls and places to swim or tube. Truly a dog friendly area. Love this place and will be back!!” -July 2022
